BMT is happy to announce our next large scale production: "Big: The Musical" The comedy is a stage adaptation of the 1988 Tom

Hanks film and is about Josh Baskin, a 13-year-old who has his wish to be older granted by, Zoltar Speaks, a fortune-telling

machine. He wakes up the next day as a grown man and, through a series of events, realizes adulthood can wait. Under the

direction of Angelica Torres, Ben Bagby and Fredy Padovan, with full energy choreography,  a magical set with the original piano

from the movie and the best talent in South Florida, this December will be a fun filled show for all the family!

BMT WILL CONTINUE TO RAISE THE BAR FOR TALENTED PERFORMERS, YOUNG AND ADULTS and is strongly committed to

developing talent in South Florida and providing it with a platform from which aspiring performers may develop their abilities.

REHEARSALS: Adult and main characters cast on Sundays. Young cast Saturdays and some Sundays.

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:

Audition information for "Big: the Musical"  Actors

Vocal auditions will happen in order of arrival, we are accepting submissions of headshots and resume prior the audition,  please e-

mail your material to broadwaymusicaltheatre@gmail.com or bring your material the day of the auditon.

-Actors must come prepared with one minute a musical theatre up-tempo pop selection, bring a cd without vocals or karaoke and a

one minute comedic monologue.

-All actors will be asked to dance on their audition date Bring comfortable clothes for dance)  and some of them will be asked to read

selected scenes.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN

Josh Baskin Male Tenor, 25 - 32. Must believably play a 12-year-old in a man's body. Caucasian actor with dark hair.

Young Josh Baskin - Male, aged 12 to 14. Confident Actor with strong dancing and singing abilities. Convincing American accent

essential. As this role is played by an adult for parts of the show, we are looking for a young Caucasian actor with dark hair.

Billy Kopecki - Josh's best friend and classmate. Male, aged 12 to 14. Confident Actor with good comic timing and strong dancing

and singing abilities. Convincing American accent essential.

Susan Lawrence - A fun loving yet business-minded executive with MacMillan Toys. Female, aged 25 to 33. This female lead role

requires a strong soprano musical theatre performer with excellent dancing and acting skills. VP of marketing at MacMillan - a fun

loving, youthful person beneath a "business woman" exterior. Convincing American accent essential.

George MacMillan - Male 30 - 50 baritone. Owner of MacMillan Toy Company. Strong character actor with baritone singing voice

and good dance ability. Convincing American accent essential.

Paul Seymour- Male 28 - 40 baritone. Vice President of Product development at MacMillan Toys. Strong character actor with

baritone singing voice and good dance ability. Convincing American accent essential.

Mrs. Baskin female alto 35 - 45. Josh's mother. Good actress, comedian a plus.

Miss Watson female alto 30-70. Supporting role, Josh's secretary of Mac Millan Toy Company,

comedian a plus.

Arthur Lipton, Rick Birnbaum, Ron Barrett Males 25 - 40 Executives for MacMillan Toy Company. Some singing and dance required.

Comedian a plus.

Abigail and Diane Females 25-40. Susan's Friends Nick, Tom Male 25-40. Susan's friends.

Parents: Mr. Kopecki, Mr. Baskin, Mrs. Kopecki Male and female 35 - 40. Some singing and acting.

Cynthia Benson (14) The typical popular girl. Good acting and dance skills.

Derek (16) The typical football player from High School.

Zoltar male bass 20 - 60

CHILDREN and TEENS Any gender 8-17 Strong performers with good singing and dance skills required for various supporting and

company roles as kids or young adults.
