BMT is happy to announce the Regional Premier of "Shrek the Musical" based on the Oscar winning

DreamWorks film that started it all, brings the hilarious story of everyone's favorite ogre to dazzling new life on

the stage.

In a faraway kingdom turned upside down, things get ugly when an unseemly ogre not a handsome prince

shows up to rescue a feisty princess. Throw in a donkey who won't shut up, a bad guy with a SHORT temper, a

cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you've got the kind of mess that calls for a

real hero. Luckily, there's one on hand...and his name is Shrek.

Full of all-new songs, great dancing and breathtaking scenery, SHREK THE MUSICAL is part romance, part

twisted fairy tale and all irreverent fun for everyone!

AUDITIONS WILL BE DURING THE MONTH OF JANUARY 2013 BY APPOINTMENT ONLY, PLEASE

SEND US YOUR INFORMATION TO angelica@broadwaymusicaltheatre.com  (Headshot and resume if you

have it),  we will contact you with your appointment and more information.   PERFORMANCES WILL BE ON

Shrek: an ogre, has spent most of his life as an outcast, living in a swamp far from civilization, nothing amuses

him more than felling a pitchfork-wielding mob with a deadly ogre fart, yet his crass and brutish exterior

disguises a soulful and lonely heart, when forced to leave the safety of his swamp and embark on a quest to

rescue a beautiful princess from a dragon-guarded castle, our reluctant hero starts to discover what it means to

hope for something more, seeking actors with a powerful presence, great wit, and a rock voice, should be able

to sing to an A, principal role;

Donkey: Shrek’s self-appointed side-kick, as charming as he is clingy, a bright-eyed motor-mouth whose

eagerness and quick wit barely disguise his desperate need for a friend, seeking performers with a winning and

easy charm, great comic skill, and a “burnin’” R&B vibe, should sing up to an A flat, principal role;

Princess Fiona: has spent most of her life locked in a dragon-guarded castle, reading fairy tales about damsels

being rescued by handsome and charming princes, when she’s finally set free, she tries desperately to play the

part she’s spent her life preparing for–the spoiled, swooning, romantic princess destined to live happily ever

after–but she has a secret, and underneath the pretty dress lurks a smart, outspoken, tough-as-nails girl who

can’t help burping or launching into hand-to-hand combat when the situation calls for it, principal role;

Lord Farquaad:  a pompous and power-hungry little villain with a raging Napoleon complex and an intense

dislike of all fairy tale creatures, always the perfectionist, sets out to claim a beautiful princess as his bride in

order to insure himself a royal title and a kingly throne, principal role;
